Women’s health physiotherapy
Women’s health physiotherapy North Sydney | Broadway | UTS
Women’s health physiotherapy assists women of all ages to overcome a range of issues that may affect them through different stages of their life. Through pelvic floor re-education, advice on safe exercises and building confidence, Healthfix empowers women to return to exercise. At Healthfix we have a particular interest in treating pre- and post-natal conditions and helping women return to their desired level of exercise. Our specialist focus on women’s health physiotherapy, including pelvic floor, pelvic pain and other pregnancy-related issues, means our expert team can assess and treat the whole person, not just a single issue.
For women who want to get back to their best and strongest.Women’s health physiotherapy differs from other physiotherapy needs, particularly in terms of pre- and post-natal conditions. Pregnancy related issues often arise during and, for many, months or even years after birth. These can include back and pelvic girdle pain, hand and wrist conditions, carpal tunnel, feeling of instability around the pelvis, round ligament pain, diastasis recti (abdominal separation) and the role of exercise and repetitive strain issues from picking up baby or breastfeeding. That said, women’s health physiotherapy can also help with issues outside of pregnancy, particularly any regarding the pelvic floor. Assessment and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse or pelvic floor dysfunction for chronic respiratory conditions, long-standing lower back pain, ongoing incontinence or constipation, regular heavy lifting through activities or exercises – our women’s health physiotherapy team can help you get back on track.
We provide assessment and treatment for women of all ages and physical needs. We pride ourselves on our women’s health centred, evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach to achieve optimal outcomes. Every appointment allows for our women’s health physiotherapists to spend the entire time with you, to conduct a comprehensive examination in order to diagnose the cause of your problem. Your physiotherapist will give you a detailed explanation so you understand your condition, and design a rehabilitation and exercise program exclusively suited to your particular needs – getting you back to your best, faster. We also make use of the HICAPS system for automatic claims through your private health fund.
