Our Pilates instructors have worked with our team of Women’s Health Physiotherapists to design a class that specifically targets pelvic floor muscles, deep abdominal muscles while building postural strength. All muscles that our physios recommend focusing on after pregnancy! We create an inclusive and supportive environment for mothers to restart their exercise regime in a safe and health professional recommended way. You can join postnatal pilates from when you are 6 weeks postpartum.
How mums benefit from Postnatal Pilates:It is important to focus on thoracic mobility and posterior chain strengthening as carrying, feeding and picking up babies commonly causes lower back and neck pain. By improving strength and range in your back, you can help avoid these niggles and be the active mum you want to be! Pilates also supports rebuilding your pelvic floor awareness and deep abdominal strength in a slow and safe manner to avoid any complications that pregnancy and delivery can cause on these muscles. Finally, Mums are superwomen! They need to be strong all over as babies can double their birth weight in 5 months and get you moving in ways you probably haven’t done in a while.
